Introduction
The implementation of the Somaliland Food Systems Resilience Project (SL-FSRP) activities will involve interactions with the community hence it is important to promote broader stakeholder engagement and establish Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) to enhance transparency and accountability. GRM system has been established for the SL-FSRP. It serves as a formal process through which individuals, communities, and other stakeholders can raise concerns, complaints, or suggestions related to project activities, implementation, or potential environmental and social impacts. The GRM system provides an accessible, transparent, and fair platform for addressing grievances promptly and effectively, thereby strengthening accountability and trust between project stakeholders and implementing institutions.
The main objectives of the GRM under the SL-FSRP are to enhance transparency, promote community participation, and prevent project-related disputes from escalating. It aims to ensure that grievances are handled systematically and equitably at the local and institutional levels, contributing to better social outcomes and smoother project implementation. Ultimately, the mechanism reinforces the project's commitment to social inclusion, accountability, and sustainable development in Somaliland's food systems.
